Adoption Process
Step 1: Fill out an Application
The starting process is to fill out an application. We have a very flexible application process. However, having your information helps us know that 1) you are serious about adopting and 2) a bit about your lifestyle so we can ensure that the dogs you are looking at are a good match and likely to succeed in your home.
Step 2:
Schedule a Pre-Adoption Virtual Meeting
An application is required BEFORE signing up (you can do it at the same time) so that we are able to be prepared to go over your application with you.
This helps us know a bit about you and what you are looking for so we can see if we have a good match. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions that you may have. Once your application is approved then you will move on to schedule an in person meeting.
Step 3: Schedule an In Person Meet and Greet (take dog home likely)
Schedule your in person meeting after your adoption application is approved. Bring your entire family (we do not have time to do multiple in person meetings, so ensure you bring everyone to your scheduled time). Bring any dogs that you have so that we can ensure they are compatible. Speak with us if this is a concern.
Expect to be able to bring your dog home if we both determine its a good match (no pressure if it is not). Discuss with us if this will not be feasible. We are sorry but we cannot hold dogs that aren't adopted during their meet and greet. You are welcome to adopt them at a later time if they remain available.
If you cannot find a time that works with your schedule, you can request we bring them to one of our weekend adoption events. Please see our adoption events page for the schedule/locations. Because of our adoption events on the weekends, we have limited availability to do meet and greets on weekends, but we can accomodate some requests. Email us to inquire.
Step 4: Schedule the pick up your new family member
For various reasons, if you have adopted a dog from us and simply need to do a pickup of said dog, you can schedule that here.
